This episode was made for a compitition or something apparently... worth watching.

Actually, Rainbow was a legit children's television show from 1972 to 1992 that aired in England. A class I had at MSU actually watched this entire episode and commented on the numerous inuendos and related it (and many other shows) to the decline in quality childrens programming.

This particular 'episode' was made for the ITV staff - but it was broadcast during primetime evening hours in the fall of 1978 after ITV executives saw it and got a huge laugh out of it. The issue we had in class was that although it was broadcast in the evening, children still realized that it was on and watched it - ITV recieved thousands of complaints following the broadcast from angry parents - proof that children did watch the show even at the late hour it was on.

But the clip is funny as hell. The full episode is even better.
